Welcome to the Delaney Doherty Memorial Scholarship Foundation

We are delighted to have you here and share the story behind our foundation. Our journey began with a desire to transform our collective grief into something positive that would honor Delaney's memory.

At the time of the accident, Delaney was weeks away from the start of her senior year at Manhattan High School in Manhattan, Montana. She had just had her senior pictures taken (one of which won a national award). Delaney was excited for volleyball practices to start. And as the incoming student body president, she was looking forward to the first day of school.

Needless to say, Manhattan High School and the broader Manhattan community have been, and continue to be, a huge part of our lives!

After the outpouring of love and support we received (and continue to receive), we could not think of a better way to begin to honor Delaney's life than by creating scholarships to benefit Manhattan High School graduates.

We may look for opportunities to expand the number and scope of scholarships in the future. Some day, we hope to benefit young women and men across Montana — Maybe even the country! For now, though, we are focusing our mission close to home as we establish the foundation and learn to navigate the fundraising process.

One thing will remain the same, though:
Our belief in the power of education to create life-changing opportunities.

Through our foundation, we aim to support deserving graduates each year who demonstrate exceptional work ethic, a passion for learning, and a strong desire to give back to their community.

Please join us on this incredible journey as we strive to create a brighter future by inspiring others to "Be the Light, Live Like D!"
